US Assistant Secretary of State in charge of European Affairs, Mrs. Victoria Nuland said Russia was 4.3 days deployed "thousands" of soldiers to neighboring Ukraine, an allegation that Russia has always denied.
Speaking before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, US, Ms. Nuland said Russia is also smuggled weapons into eastern Ukraine, according to AFP.
"Since December 12.2014, Russia has moved hundreds of military hardware, including tanks, armored vehicles, missiles, artillery," Ms Nuland said.
"The Russian military has its headquarters in eastern Ukraine right ... They financial aid for the war, they spark and command and control it," Ms. Nuland said.
However, Ms Nuland did not specify how many Russian troops presence in eastern Ukraine. "I did not have jurisdiction provide specific numbers in context can not decrypt this information, but there are thousands," Ms Nuland said.
Earlier, US President Barack Obama called for 3.3 days the international community to "overreact" to any violation of the ceasefire agreement in eastern Ukraine.
Confederate government and Ukraine reached a ceasefire agreement in 12.2 days and proceed to withdraw heavy weapons, but the agreement broke down because the risk of fighting between the two sides continued.
